All Blacks senior players would be forgiven for forgetting the art of losing gracefully. Yet Steve Hansen's men showed no signs of sour grapes on Saturday after their 40-29 loss to Ireland. The world champions were well below their best on neutral territory in Chicago, behind by 22 points by the 50th minute and conceding 40 points for the first time in 12 years. Fullback Ben Smith, who nabbed a second-half try, said after the match that his side could do no more than congratulate their foes on a job well done.

Whakatane will have a public fireworks show this year - the first since 2009, when 40 minutes' worth of bangers exploded in about 40 seconds. Two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries after the accident. Thousands of dollars' worth went off at once in the fiery mishap, brilliantly lighting up the bay of plenty sky, but also causing a large scrub fire.

A man had his jaw broken and a woman had thousands of dollars worth of belongings stolen during a viscous assault at Kuirau Park in Rotorua on the weekend. The Japanese tourists were attack around 6:00 pm on Saturday at the tourists hotspot by three men said to be aged in their twenties. The grey Puma bag held cash as well as a number of personal items including an iPad air, iPhone 5 and a camera.

Dreamworld ride could shut down park

The park is closed while Workplace health and safety investigates the incident where four people were killed on the thunder river rapids, but will have a memorial day on Friday. Dreamworld operator Ardent Leisure continue to tumble, dropping 67 Australian cents wiping AU$310 million off the company's market value.

Samsung stop making Galaxy Note 7

note7Samsung has announced that it is no longer making the new Galaxy Note 7 smartphone. They have also told customers to turn it off and stop using it. In September, the company recalled and replaced 2.5 million of them after getting complaints that the batteries were exploding. Samsung have said that people who have a Galaxy Note 7 will be able to return the phones for a refund or swap it for a different Samsung phone.

Rooney Wins World Shooting Title

rooney-shootingNew Zealand shooter Natalie Rooney has won her first-ever world title. Rooney, the Olympic silver medalist, has won the women's trap title at the ISSF World Cup final i Rome. Rooney finished the semi finals in the lead with 13 hits out of 15 targets, and moved into the gold medal match along with the title defender, San Marino's Alessandra Perilli.
